Skordle Privacy Policy
Effective July 26, 2026
Skordle is a word-guessing game you play inside Discord as an Activity. It's developed and operated by MDHD ("we", "us"). This page explains what information Skordle collects, why, and how you can have it deleted.
Information we collect
When you launch Skordle inside Discord, Discord shares the following with us so we can identify you:
- Your Discord user ID, username, display name, and avatar image URL
As you play, we store:
- Your guesses and game results (win/loss, attempts used, streaks)
- Which Discord server (guild) you played a game in, so per-server leaderboards work
We also collect anonymous, aggregate usage events (for example: a game started, a guess was submitted, an error occurred) to understand how the game is used and to fix bugs. These events never include the word you guessed or the day's answer.
Information that never leaves your device
Your display preferences (sound, high contrast, and the two annotation-style settings) and any personal color notes you leave on letter tiles are stored only in your browser's local storage. They're never sent to our servers.
What we don't do
- We don't use cookies to run the game itself
- We don't use third-party analytics or advertising trackers
- We don't sell or share your data with advertisers
How long we keep information
Your game history and profile information are kept for as long as you have data with us -- that is, until you ask us to delete it (see below). Aggregate usage events are automatically deleted after 365 days.
Your rights and how to request deletion
You can ask us to delete all data associated with your Discord account at any time by emailing mhmdjr11@gmail.com with your Discord username or user ID. We'll process the request as soon as reasonably possible. Deleting your account removes your Discord profile information, game history, and guesses from our database. Aggregate usage events already tied to your account are anonymized (disconnected from your identity) rather than deleted outright, so we can keep accurate long-term usage statistics without retaining anything that identifies you.
Who can access your information
Only MDHD, as the developer and operator of Skordle, has access to the underlying database, for building and maintaining the game. Skordle runs on third-party cloud hosting infrastructure, and Discord itself has whatever access its own platform requires to operate Activities.
Children's privacy
Skordle is accessed entirely through your Discord account, so age requirements are governed by Discord's own Terms of Service. Skordle does not independently collect age information.
